Owen Trinkler Heads Into Homestead 200 Looking For A Strong Rebound

FL/March 3, 2010 – Racing
sensation, Owen Trinkler is entering the Homestead 200 at the Homestead Miami
Speedway on March 5-6, 2010 with intentions to mount a rebound from a rough
start of the 2010 series. Trinkler who
will be driving with Randy Smalley for RSR Motorsports has a strong track
record at the Homestead Miami Speedway.
His car will be car 196, a Mini Cooper S, sponsored by Cruise
America/Grand Fondo Cycles and P1 Groupe.
Motor sports fans across the nation will be watching to see if Homestead
is lucky for Trinkler once again.
"Randy,
myself and the full RSR team are really looking forward to Homestead to rebound
from a rough start to the 2010 season,” said Owen Trinkler. “We have a
pretty good record at Homestead, it's a circuit our team knows well and our
cars have always been strong there. Our goal is still the Team
Championship for 2010, and that means we need to start getting really strong
results now. We'll be putting on a great show for the fans in
Miami!"
Trinkler
spearheaded the development of the GT2 Corvette that ran in the ALMS in
2000. This is his third full season with RSR Motorsports in the Mini
Cooper S. He has consulted and trained
for Audi, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Panoz, and Subaru. He was selected as one of the 25 young Drivers
in the USA to participate in the distinguished Team Green's Indy Car Academy
Scholarship.
In
2009 Trinkler qualified in Pole Position on two occasions and had a season-best
finish of 4th place at Barber Motorsports Park while leading laps in
a number of races for his RSR Motorsports team in the Mini Cooper S race
car. This is in addition to the two
pole positions he earned for the same team in the 2008 racing season, but
shadows in comparison to his many racing accomplishments.
