CANTON'S CAFFÉ ITALIA TO HOST AUTISM FUNDRAISER
On Saturday January 16th, Canton’s Caffé Italia will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Michigan Indigo Children and Families Network. The MICFN is dedicated to supporting families affected by Autism, Asperger’s, ADD, ADHD, PDD-NOS, and similar behavioral or developmental delays.
The benefit will be held at Caffé Italia located at 41985 Ford Rd (between Haggerty and Lilley in the Zap Zone complex). In addition to offering parents a chance to network, there will be live entertainment from 3pm-10pm as well as the visual art of pop surrealist Karl Kanai.
Entertainment schedule for the event is as follows:
Jimmy Barrios 3:00pm-3: 45pm (big band/Latin)
Corey Quinn 4:00pm-4: 45pm (jazz)
Shattered Sky 5:00pm-5: 45pm (singer/songwriter)
Sean Moylan 6:00pm-6: 45pm (singer/songwriter)
April Gibson 7:00pm-7: 45pm (country)
The PJ’s 8:30pm-9: 15pm (covers)
The Robin Moore Band 9:15pm-10:00pm (Americana)
When asked why she chose to hold a benefit for the MICFN, the café’s Operating Partner Laura Morton stated,” I have a niece with Asperger’s so the idea of being able to help children like her hit home.”
Caffé Italia will be open from 10:00am-10:00pm the day of the event. A portion of the day’s sales will be donated to the MICFN to help families affected by “Indigo” spectrum disorders.
